Crossroads: Stories and Essays From A Wandering Mind
This is an unusual collection of 38 short pieces from a new author. The title story, Crossroads, set in the early 20th century, concerns a tightly-wrapped factory supervisor who takes his new car out for a drive in the country. After his car breaks down, he is helped by a farmer who is a great deal smarter than he first appears. The farmer will later make the city man an offer that could change his life.
Of the 38 works presented here; 19 are purely works of fiction; 8 are observations on human, or animal, behavior; 6 are personal memoirs; and 5 are decidedly humorous. It is difficult to easily categorize an author who writes with such a potpourri of interests. This is the reason that we have subtitled his first book, “from a wandering mind.”
